About Us

Excelsior Education Society (EES) is an educational and charitable trust dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and the holistic development of students since 1978. Over the years, the Society has established several reputed institutions under its aegis, with KC College of Engineering, Management Studies and Research (KCCEMSR), Thane, being one of its flagship institutions.

EES is committed to nurturing and maximizing the potential of individuals across educational, intellectual, and moral dimensions. Its primary objective is to integrate academic learning with innovation and practical exposure, thereby preparing students to meet the evolving demands of industry and society.

The establishment and growth of KCCEMSR have been guided by the visionary leadership of Dr. Harssh Khanna and the late Mr. K. C. Khanna, whose invaluable contributions have played a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s journey towards academic excellence and holistic development.

K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies & Research, Thane

Over 25 years, the institution has evolved through strategic expansion, introduction of new programs, and continuous quality enhancement, firmly establishing itself as a prominent center for engineering and management education.

The institution has demonstrated consistent growth in academic capacity, program diversification, and quality assurance. The key milestones in its journey are as follows:

2001 - 2002

Establishment & Initial Intake

The institute commenced its academic journey with undergraduate programs in:

  • Computer Engineering (Intake: 45)
  • Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (Intake: 45)
  • Information Technology (Intake: 60)

This marked the foundation of a strong technical education base.

2002 - 2003

Intake Expansion

The intake capacity for core engineering programs was enhanced:

  • Computer Engineering increased to 90
  • Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering increased to 90

This expansion reflected growing demand and institutional capability.

2008 - 2009

New Program Introduction

A new undergraduate program in Electronics Engineering was introduced with an intake of 60 students, broadening the academic portfolio.

2010 - 2011

Launch of PG Program

The institute expanded into management education with the introduction of the Master of Management Studies (MMS) program, with an intake of 60 students, marking a significant step towards multidisciplinary education.

2018 - 2019

NAAC Accreditation (1st Cycle)

The institution successfully completed its first cycle of accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), establishing formal recognition of its quality standards.

2020 - 2021

NBA Accreditation

Key engineering programs—Computer Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering—received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), reinforcing outcome-based education and academic excellence.

2023 - 2024

Working Professional Programs

To cater to industry professionals, the institute introduced working professional programs with an approved intake of:

  • 30 seats in Computer Engineering
  • 30 seats in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

This initiative strengthened industry-academia integration.

2024 - 2025

Intake Growth & NAAC ‘A’ Grade

Intake capacity for Computer Engineering and Information Technology increased to 180 each, reflecting significant institutional growth.

The institution achieved NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation, signifying excellence in teaching-learning, infrastructure, research, and governance.

Silver Jubilee Year

The year 2026 marks the Silver Jubilee (25 years) of the institution, celebrating a remarkable journey of academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development. This milestone reflects the institute’s sustained commitment to quality education, industry relevance, and societal contribution.

Program Outcomes:

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
