This insightful and interactive session will be conducted by Dr. Shubhangi Verulkar, a distinguished academician and researcher recognized for her expertise in scholarly writing and academic publishing.

Designed to benefit students, research scholars, and faculty members, the session aims to provide practical guidance on developing well-structured, high-quality research papers that meet the standards of both national and international journals.

MOCK HIRE: The Ultimate Interview Experience

In alignment with its vision to produce industry-ready management professionals, K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research organized a dynamic and immersive mock interview activity titled “MOCK HIRE: The Ultimate Interview Experience” on 25th February 2025. This initiative was exclusively designed for Second-Year M.M.S. students to help them strengthen their interviewing skills, build confidence, and gain a real-time understanding of corporate expectations.

The session was skillfully facilitated by Ms. Riddhi Kunjwani, a well-respected soft skills trainer and founder of Riddhi Soft Skill Solutions, known for her engaging delivery and expertise in career readiness training. She began the session with a comprehensive briefing on the key components of successful interviews, including body language, communication techniques, self-presentation, and effective articulation of career goals.

Following this, the session transitioned into its core component—the mock interview rounds, conducted by a panel of evaluators simulating actual interview conditions. Students faced one-on-one interviews under professional settings, where they were assessed on various parameters such as clarity of thought, confidence, problem-solving abilities, and behavioral responses.

This experiential learning approach offered students a unique opportunity to step into the shoes of a job applicant and understand what employers look for during the selection process. Constructive feedback was provided to each participant, helping them identify their strengths and areas for improvement. In addition, students were introduced to subtle yet critical elements of networking etiquette, professionalism, and career strategy—insights that often go beyond classroom learning.

From the college’s perspective, the MOCK HIRE activity served as a significant milestone in preparing students for the transition from campus to corporate life. It reinforced the importance of experiential training and provided a safe, supportive platform for students to practice, learn, and grow.

Students responded with great enthusiasm, appreciating the realism of the interviews and the personalized feedback. Many expressed that the session not only reduced their anxiety around interviews but also gave them a clearer sense of how to approach future placement opportunities with greater preparation and confidence.

This thoughtfully curated program was designed to equip First-Year and Second-Year M.M.S. students with the tools, techniques, and mindset required to thrive in today’s competitive professional landscape.

The session was conducted by Mrs. Riddhi Kunjwani, a seasoned industry professional with rich experience in talent development, career mentoring, and employability training. With her dynamic and student-centric approach, Mrs. Kunjwani delivered an engaging and impactful session that covered key aspects of career readiness, such as:

• Interview preparation techniques – including resume-building, personal branding, and effective communication

• Professional networking – strategies for building meaningful connections in the corporate world

• Career development planning – understanding long-term goals, skill acquisition, and adaptability in evolving job markets

Students were introduced to real-world scenarios and interactive exercises that challenged them to reflect on their strengths, career aspirations, and areas of improvement. Mrs. Kunjwani emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence, self-discipline, and continuous learning as critical factors for long-term success.

From a college perspective, this session aligned perfectly with the institute’s mission to foster holistic development among students—not only through academic excellence but also by enhancing their industry-readiness and employability skills. The session concluded with a Q&A segment, where students enthusiastically participated, seeking career guidance and clarity on interview-related concerns. Feedback from the attendees highlighted the session as highly relevant, motivational, and practically useful for shaping their future paths.

The program began with a focus on cutting-edge technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence. Ms. Vedika Patil was the guest speaker for the lecture held at K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research. 

The Guest Lecture, titled "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence," took place on 6th February 2025. Ms. Vedika Patil shared insights on various types and forms of AI, as well as the application of AI tools in the industry. She also engaged the audience with an interactive AI quiz.

Author’s Nook, held on 18th January 2025, at K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research, featured an engaging podcast focused on nurturing reading habits among students and highlighting their importance.
The session featured Mr. Amrut Deshmukh, popularly known as The Booklet Guy, who shared his inspiring journey of developing a love for reading through an interactive Q&A format.
The podcast was skillfully hosted by Second Year MMS students, Ms. Tuba and Mr. Sunny Margaje, adding professionalism and charm to the event.

Alumni Meet 4th January 2025 was held with great enthusiasm at K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research, bringing together former students from various batches for a day of reconnecting, reminiscing, and celebrating shared memories.

The event provided a platform for alumni to interact with faculty, current students, and fellow batchmates, sharing their professional journeys and experiences. Inspiring speeches, fun activities, and cultural performances added warmth and vibrancy to the gathering.

The alumni expressed their gratitude towards their alma mater and appreciated the opportunity to relive their college days. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a promise to stay connected and contribute to the institution’s growth.

On 24th December 2024, an industrial visit to Sahyadri Farms was organized. MMS students embarked on a one-day industrial visit to Sahyadri Farms in Nashik. 

Sahyadri farms was Founded by Mr. Vilas Shinde, it is a leading farmer-owned cooperative with over 700 shareholders. It has played a transformative role in the Indian agricultural sector by promoting sustainable practices, ensuring fair trade, and leveraging advanced technology to empower farmers.

The visit offered students a unique opportunity to explore the farm’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and gain in-depth insights into its innovative and impactful business model.

On December 24, 2024, the MMS Department of K. C. College of Engineering organized an insightful industrial visit for 33 first-year students to Sahyadri Farms in Nashik. Established by visionary entrepreneur Mr. Vilas Shinde, Sahyadri Farms is a trailblazing farmer-owned cooperative with over 700 shareholders. The organization is at the forefront of transforming Indian agriculture through sustainable farming practices, fair trade initiatives, and the integration of advanced technology.

The visit offered students a valuable opportunity to witness first-hand the cooperative’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, spanning multiple campuses and processing plants. Students gained a deeper understanding of food processing, supply chain logistics, and export operations. The experience highlighted Sahyadri Farms’ commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and farmer empowerment.

By bridging theoretical concepts with real-world applications, the visit significantly enriched the students’ academic journey, equipping them with practical insights and preparing them for future professional challenges in the field of agribusiness and beyond.

Aavishkar 2024, the prestigious Research and Innovation Competition organized by the University of Mumbai, was held on 15th December 2024. This renowned platform aims to encourage academic inquiry, critical thinking, and innovative solutions among students and researchers across disciplines.

We are proud to share that a team of First Year MMS students from our institute actively participated in the competition, showcasing their research acumen and commitment to innovation. The team comprised:

Career Compass Workshop – 16th November 2024

Guiding Students Towards Informed Specialization Choices

On 16th November 2024, K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research hosted an insightful career guidance workshop titled “Career Compass”, aimed at assisting students in making informed and strategic decisions regarding their specialization choices for the M.M.S. program. This workshop was organized with the primary goal of offering students valuable insights into the diverse career opportunities available across various management domains and helping them align their academic pursuits with industry needs.

The session featured a distinguished panel of industry professionals, each an expert in their respective fields. The speakers included:

On 9th November 2024, K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research had the privilege of hosting a highly engaging and intellectually stimulating Guest Lecture as part of its ongoing efforts to expose students to real-world economic perspectives and global business dynamics.

The lecture, titled “Global Macros and Their Impact on Us,” was delivered by Ms. Ushma Zunzavadiya, Senior Manager – Corporate Strategy at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). With her vast industry experience and strategic insight, Ms. Zunzavadiya provided a comprehensive overview of the major macroeconomic factors influencing today’s interconnected global economy.

During the session, she discussed critical topics such as political stability, geopolitical conflicts, interest rate trends, inflationary pressures, and the role of demographic dividends in shaping economic growth. Her ability to connect these abstract macro-level elements to their real-world implications helped students grasp the broader significance of these factors, not just globally but also in the context of emerging economies like India.

What truly elevated the session was its interactive nature. Ms. Zunzavadiya actively encouraged students to ask questions and engage in meaningful discussion, transforming the lecture into a dynamic exchange of ideas. Guest Lecture- Alumni Connect – 14th Sep. 2024

Mr. Prashant Mahajan and Ms. Sabitha Sankaran addressed the students and highlighted the importance of having a clear vision, to move on the path of success and to have traits such as empathy, ambition and perseverance to reach the destination.

On 14th September 2024, K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research hosted an inspiring guest lecture aimed at enriching students’ professional outlook and personal growth.

The session was conducted by Mr. Kartikeyan Iyer, Associate Director – Sales at Xpressbees, who delivered a thought-provoking talk on the importance of setting clear goals and the role of strategic planning in achieving long-term success. Drawing from his own professional experiences, Mr. Iyer emphasized the value of having a focused vision and a well-structured approach to career development.

His address was not only informative but also deeply motivational, encouraging students to adopt a proactive mindset, remain persistent in the face of challenges, and consistently align their efforts with their ambitions. The Orientation Program "INITIUM" for the FYMMS Batch 2024–2026 was successfully organized on 13th September 2024 at K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research.

This multi-faceted training session was carefully designed to equip students with essential interpersonal and professional competencies that complement their academic knowledge and make them more workplace-ready. The program placed strong emphasis on critical areas such as:

On 7th February 2020, an industrial visit to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)—India’s apex monetary authority—was organized for the students of the M.M.S. program at K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research. This educational visit served as an exceptional opportunity for students to gain a deeper understanding of the central banking system and its vital role in regulating and sustaining the Indian economy.

Upon arrival at the RBI’s headquarters in Mumbai, students were welcomed and briefed by officials from the bank, who provided a comprehensive overview of the institution’s history, core functions, and operational framework. The session shed light on how the RBI regulates monetary policy, manages inflation, oversees the issuance and circulation of currency, ensures financial stability, and supervises banking operations across the country.

One of the highlights of the visit was an interactive presentation that explained how the RBI uses instruments like repo rates, reverse repo rates, and CRR/SLR to control liquidity and steer the economic direction of the nation. Students also gained insights into the regulatory mechanisms that the RBI employs to monitor and guide commercial banks and non-banking financial institutions (NBFCs), helping to ensure transparency, accountability, and public confidence in the financial system.

The visit also touched upon the RBI’s role in digital banking initiatives, financial inclusion efforts, and its evolving approach to adapting technology in finance and cybersecurity protocols.

Students were highly engaged throughout the session, posing thoughtful questions that led to insightful discussions on topics such as inflation targeting, the impact of interest rate changes on borrowing and investment, and the challenges faced by the banking sector in a dynamic global economy.

This industrial visit proved to be a powerful experiential learning opportunity, bridging classroom theory with real-world applications. It helped students appreciate the RBI’s central role in shaping India’s financial architecture and gave them a newfound perspective on economic governance and monetary policy.

On 21st December 2019, the students of the M.M.S program at K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research took the faculty by surprise with a deeply thoughtful and inspiring gesture. In an act that highlighted their gratitude and respect, the students presented their professors with a unique gift of motivation, symbolizing not just their appreciation but also their recognition of the invaluable support and mentorship they receive from their educators.

The event was marked by heartfelt speeches from the students, expressing their admiration for the faculty’s dedication to shaping their academic and professional futures. The gift, which was carefully chosen to inspire both personal and professional growth, served as a reminder of the powerful role that encouragement and positivity play in the learning process.

This surprise gesture was more than just a form of appreciation; it was a meaningful exchange that strengthened the bond between students and faculty, reinforcing the sense of community and mutual respect within the academic environment. On 14th October 2019, an enriching visit was organized for students to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), located at the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. This visit offered students a rare and insightful opportunity to witness the inner workings of one of India’s most significant financial regulatory bodies.

During the visit, students were provided with an in-depth understanding of SEBI's role in regulating and overseeing the functioning of India’s capital markets. They learned about SEBI's key responsibilities, including the protection of investor interests, the development of efficient capital markets, and the enforcement of securities laws to ensure transparency, fairness, and integrity in financial transactions.

The session included detailed explanations of market surveillance, insider trading regulations, and the steps SEBI takes to maintain market stability. Students were also introduced to various market instruments and the critical role SEBI plays in ensuring their proper functioning, fostering investor confidence, and maintaining systemic stability.

The visit not only enhanced students' knowledge of India's financial regulatory environment but also provided them with valuable exposure to real-world applications of what they learn in the classroom. It served as an excellent platform for aspiring professionals to better understand the dynamic relationship between market participants, regulatory bodies, and the legal framework that governs capital market operations in India.

Overall, the trip was both educational and inspiring, allowing students to gain firsthand insights into how SEBI functions as a key pillar of India’s financial system.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a special celebration was held on 8th March 2025 to honor and appreciate the achievements and contributions of women. The event featured engaging activities, inspiring talks, and a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated the spirit of womanhood.

On 27th March 2018, the MMS Department at K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research organized a highly informative guest lecture on the topic “Six Sigma and Its Benefits in the IT Industry.” The session aimed to introduce students to quality management practices that play a critical role in driving operational excellence in modern-day organizations, particularly in the field of Information Technology.

The lecture was delivered by Mrs. Kirti Katre, a distinguished IT professional currently serving as a Group Leader at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). With over 10 years of hands-on industry experience, Mrs. Katre brought a wealth of knowledge and practical insights to the session, drawing from her work in leading teams and optimizing performance within large-scale IT projects.

During the session, Mrs. Katre provided a comprehensive overview of Six Sigma, a data-driven methodology used to improve business processes by reducing variation and eliminating defects. She explained the DMAIC framework (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) in detail and illustrated its real-world application through case studies and examples from her own professional experiences in the IT domain.

Students gained a clearer understanding of how Six Sigma principles are not only relevant to manufacturing but are also increasingly vital in IT operations, where efficiency, reliability, and quality assurance are paramount. The lecture emphasized how adopting Six Sigma practices can lead to improved project delivery, better customer satisfaction, and a culture of continuous improvement.

What made the session particularly engaging was Mrs. Katre’s approachable style of communication and her emphasis on practical implementation rather than just theoretical knowledge. She also shared valuable career guidance, encouraging students to consider certifications like Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt to enhance their professional credibility and career prospects.
